Campus Announcement:

SCC will be open on Friday, February 21, 2025. We understand that road conditions may vary across our service area. Students and employees should use their best judgment when deciding whether they can safely travel to campus. Be safe!

  • Students: If you cannot attend class in person, please communicate with your instructor.
  • Employees: If you are unable to make it to work, please coordinate with your supervisor.

International Students

Application deadlines:

June 15 - Fall Semester
October 1 - Spring Semester

  • Deadlines apply – late applications will be considered for the next available semester.
    All required documents submitted become the property of the College. Please have all documents sent to Primary Designated School Official at Somerset Community College: Parker Tucker at parker.tucker@kctcs.edu. 
  • All documents submitted must be original. Faxes and/or copies of documents will not be accepted.
  • All financial documents must be in English and USD. Please read the requirements listed below very carefully.
  • References to “F-1” students include M-1 visa holders with plans to study in the United States.


Steps to complete for international admission to Somerset Community College:

Step 1:    Complete KCTCS International Application for Admissions
Step 2:    Send F-1 Financial Statement (Letter of Support with bank statements of sponsor.)
Step 3:    Send TOEFL Report/English Language Proficiency:
Step 4:    Send documentation of Completion of Secondary Studies: (Must include an official English translation.)  

*Note: KCTCS Colleges do not evaluate foreign transcript for transfer credit.

Transcript accrediting agency:
World Education Services (WES) http://www.wes.org

Request a course-by-course evaluation. Document-by document evaluations will not be accepted for transfer credit.
Somerset Community College is an AccessWES member which means we can receive evaluations online once the evaluation is complete.

Do not send or bring your foreign transcripts directly to the College’s admissions office, they will not be accepted.

Step 5:    Health Insurance: F-1 students and their dependents are required to provide proof of health insurance coverage for each semester.
