Curriculum covers every aspect of geothermal drilling through classroom and drill site training.

  • Introduction to the science behind geothermal boreholes and loop fields
  • The roles, requirements, and fundamentals of drilling boreholes, including workplace protocol and safety
  • Drilling disciplines and how they react to different subsurface conditions
  • The lifecycle of the drilling process, from a single borehole to an entire borefield
  • Critical thinking and overcoming tough drilling conditions

By the end of the training, you will have experienced drilling and shadowed drilling boreholes to completion.

Post-training opportunities may include a paid apprenticeship in the geothermal industry, listing in GDA's database of trained candidates.
