New Online Learning Students

Are you new to online learning and taking online classes?

We've all been new to using technology at some point, and really it's ever-evolving, so staying on top of even the most basic computer skills can look different from year to year.

If you are feeling a bit nervous about online learning or just want to brush up on your computer skills, take some time to complete this Mini-Computer Skills Course to ensure you are ready to successfully complete your courses here at Somerset Community College.

Current Students has in-depth information on helpful resources for students, such as Share and Care Center, Learning Commons, KCTCS User Account Center (account password resets) and MyPath where you can access your email, Blackboard, Student Self-Service, and Registration.
Academic Resources has in-depth information on helpful resources for students such as Advising, Accessibility Services, Child Care Assistance (CCAMPIS), College Navigators, Student Records, and Student Policies.
The Life Wireless program can help with providing free cell phone service with unlimited data, talk, and text, hotspot service, as well as assistance with the purchase of a phone.

The most common technologies that are used in online courses provide various tools to make their services and products more accessible. They also provide tutorials to help with any questions you might have.

For many online courses, you will use Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.). As a KCTCS student, Microsoft Office is FREE. For instructions on how to download and install Microsoft Office, visit Technology Discounts.
