About UCSK
The University Center of Southern Kentucky is a partnership of postsecondary educational institutions bringing bachelor’s degrees and educational opportunities close to home in Southern Kentucky. The University Center of Southern Kentucky, described by Congressman Harold “Hal” Rogers as a "multi-versity" for student success, will provide several pathways and delivery methods for students to earn a four-year degree from partnering universities in Kentucky on the campus of Somerset Community College. After completing a two-year degree at SCC, students will be able to choose from the partnering university of their choice and have access to student support services to complete a four-year bachelor's degree at the Somerset Campus.
The partnership between the University Center of Southern Kentucky and the participating universities was created based on community demands, workforce needs and student access. Now high school graduates will have the option to stay close to home to get a four-year degree at an affordable rate and non-traditional students will have an option to further their educational goals.
Why UCSK?
The University Center of Southern Kentucky and Somerset Community College have partnered with several colleges and universities in the region to provide coursework at our campuses/centers so that students can complete their bachelor’s degree without leaving Somerset. It is a unique partnership in with four-year institutions where classes are made available on Somerset’s Campus to students who remain local and still want to complete their education. Students are provided one-on-one level support from an advisor here on Somerset’s Campus.
Support
Meet with advisors one-one-one here on Somerset’s Campuses to get the help you need. Classes are offered in a variety of delivery methods including face to face, hybrid, and online. The University Center and partners provide opportunities for students to develop skills to promote individual success, leadership, and become self-regulated learners through directly here on Somerset Community College’s campus. The high-quality academic support services provided through our partner universities and colleges are responsive to your needs as a student here at SCC.
