To access Library resources from an off-campus site, go to the library home page.
For this example, select the link to "Books and Audio/Visual Resources".
Once you have arrived on the Books and Audio/Visual Resources page you will then select the link to the Encyclopedia Britannica website.
This brings you to a page which mentions that there is a certificate error but there is no cause for concern as this page is perfectly safe.
Below are the messages seen in Internet Explorer 7. Click through the security messages to continue.
1. IF USING INTERNET EXPLORER
On this screen simply type in your MCTC/KCTCS username and password and press login. If you are unsure of your password or need to reset it you can do so by using the KCTCS Authentication Manager.
The Encyclopedia Britannica Online web page will display.
If you wish to search another online database, simply go back to the library home page and repeat the above steps.
2. IF USING FIREFOX
You must click on "I understand the risks" and then click on "Add Exception" to access the resource off-campus.
Select "Get Certificate" to create an exception for this site.
On the following page you can then sign in using your MCTC/KCTCS username and password.
