The staff of The Bridge, Somerset Community College's student newspaper, garnered a publication-record-tying 19 awards in the Kentucky Press Association's 2021 Excellence in Kentucky Newspapers contest, including first place in General Excellence.

Deans List Fall 2021. Congrats, students!Somerset Community College (SCC) is proud to announce the names of those students named to the Dean's List for the fall 2021 semester. The fall semester concluded in December and a total of 613 students were named to the list.

Louisville Gas and Electric gave $1,000 to start a training program for inmates at Laurel County Correctional Center for forklift drivers. Coordinating the program with Somerset Community College, the 8-hour program will allow non-violent inmates to participate and be certified once released from jail. An unsteady walk on a swinging bridge. These are just a few of the dozens of images featured in Somerset Community College's (SCC) Fruit of the Lens photography club's fall exhibit.

The Circle of Love Angel Tree Project was a huge success this year. The tireless efforts of the Angel committee members was greatly appreciated. Not pictured: Pam Bridgman.The Circle of Love Angel Tree Project was a huge success this year. College employees were able to provide gifts for a total of 67 children and also reach out to a family in crisis this holiday season. Approximately $600 was raised in the effort to get gifts in the hands of underprivileged children in the Somerset area as well as to 10 children of SCC students who were in need.

Dr. Gina Bingham, SCC Fall Commencement Key Note SpeakerSomerset Community College's (SCC) fall commencement will take place on Friday, December 10 Commencement will begin at 7:30 p.m. on Friday, December 10, 2021 at First Baptist Church, London, KY. The address is 804 W 5th Street. Associate degrees, diplomas and certificates will be awarded during the ceremony.

Wanda Bolze Book Sale organizers pose for a photo in front of thousands of used books for sale.The annual Wanda Bolzé Memorial Scholarship book sale at Somerset Community College (SCC) was held Wednesday & Thursday, December 1 & 2 on the SCC Somerset Campus, and over $2700 was raised to support scholarships in her memory.

Three SCC Lineman Training students received scholarships provided by Kentucky’s Touchstone Energy Cooperatives.  Three students enrolled in the Somerset Community College (SCC) Lineman Training program have received $2,000 scholarships from Kentucky's Touchstone Energy Cooperatives. The scholarships may be used for tuition, supplies, fees, and other expenses related to the program.
