Somerset Community College Workforce Solutions Offers Hundreds of Online Courses

The Workforce Solutions Department at Somerset Community College (SCC) offers hundreds of quality non-credit online courses. Classes cover everything from creating web pages to accounting fundamentals. Even classes on topics such as starting a pet-sitting business, speed Spanish and grant writing can be found through Workforce Solutions. The classes are highly interactive and can be taken entirely over the Internet. All courses are led by expert instructors, many of whom are nationally known speakers, professors and authors. The online courses are affordable, fun, fast, convenient and geared at lifelong learners.

Through a partnership with ed2go|GES (Gatlin Education Services), SCC offers a program that makes it easy to take high-quality, affordable online courses and online career training programs. Through the classes, students can develop new skills and knowledge in order to stand out in todays competitive job market. The program allows participants to enhance personal and professional skills, and can assist in launching a new career or advancing in an existing one, regardless of the students location.

Comprehensive six-week online courses start monthly and attendees can work anytime and anywhere that is convenient. Each high-quality course includes comprehensive lessons, quizzes and a discussion area. Dedicated instructors facilitate every course; pacing learners, answering questions, giving feedback and aiding discussions.

The online career training programs are available to start anytime. They range from three to six months, and many offer an extension period if necessary. Many programs include an industry certification exam, and internship and externship opportunities are available for select programs.
