Somerset Community College to Host New Art by Cory Bond in Gallery
STUDENT SEEKS TO PROMOTE AUTISM AWARENESS THROUGH ART
Somerset Community College will host My Imagination, an art show by SCC student Cory Bond, in the East End Gallery located in Stoner Hall on SCCs Somerset campus beginning April 1, 2015. The exhibit promotes autism awareness.My Imagination will feature more than 45 new works by Cory Bond, who was diagnosed with autism at a very early age. Bond is studying painting at SCC with associate professor Darlene Libbey. Painting provides a wonderful outlet for Bonds creativity, said Libbey.
In April 2014, Bonds first exhibit at, entitled Corys World, was a resounding success with more than 100 people attended the artists reception. The exhibit opened a dialogue about autism and the extraordinary abilities of individuals with autism. Bonds works have also been exhibited at the Promenade Gallery in Berea, the Berea Arts Council Gallery, Rockcastle Regional Hospital and Rockcastle Public Library.
My Imagination will be on display in the SCC East End Gallery from April 1 through April 30, 2015.
A reception will be held in the gallery, which is located in SCCs Stoner Hall, 808 Monticello Street, Somerset, on Thursday, April 9 from 5 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. The reception is free and open to the public.
