Somerset Community College recently hosted a Federal Work Study (FWS) appreciation
event during National Student Employment week. During the event, outstanding work
study students and supervisors from each SCC campus or center were honored. Starla
Roark, a former FWS student who now works in the Financial Aid office in SCC London
Campus, spoke to the students about perseverance and the importance of the FWS program
in developing job skills. The winners were announced at the end, each receiving a
certificate and a plaque.
