An upcoming photography exhibit aims to expose the artistry of tattoos.
Somerset Community Colleges Fruit of the Lens photography club will sponsor the exhibit
and entries will be accepted until Wednesday, Feb. 24.
Weve changed the rules for this show to allow everyonenot just membersto submit photographs,
said Cindy Burton, faculty advisor for the club. Its open to anyone who has a camera,
including phone cameras, and follows the guidelines
She noted that the exhibit, Take The Leap: Love Your Body Art, will be shown on leap
day, Monday, Feb. 29 on SCCs Somerset Campus in the Rogers Student Commons Cafeteria.
The submitted images will be projected on the big screen from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m.
This event is free and open to the general public.
Few forms of art are as intimate as the tattoo, Burton said. The markings may be simple
or elaborate, but they are always personal. Its this personal statement we hope to
spotlight with the photos on display.
Guidelines for entering the exhibit are:
- Entries must pertain to the exhibit theme and be appropriate and tasteful. Club administration
has the right to remove photographs that are deemed inappropriate.
- Limit entries to your favorite five (5) photos. Photo size should be 1 to 5 MB.
- Photo files should be named in consecutive order, such as MaryE-1, MaryE-2, MaryE-3,
etc. E-mail all entries using the above naming system to: email@example.com.
- Submission deadline is Wednesday, Feb. 24, 2016 at 12 midnight and should include
