Somerset Community College Welcomes Andrea Clue as Director of Advancement

Andrea ClueSomerset Community College (SCC) is pleased to welcome Andrea Clue as its new Director of Advancement, where she will lead the college's fundraising efforts, cultivate community partnerships, and support initiatives that expand educational opportunities for students throughout SCC's 13-county service area.

Clue succeeds Cindy Clouse, who retired after 17 years of dedicated service leading the college's advancement efforts.

Clue brings extensive experience in marketing, communications, community engagement, and nonprofit leadership to the role. Most recently, she served as Marketing Director for First & Farmers National Bank, where she spent more than a decade building relationships and supporting community initiatives. Her previous experience also includes serving in the Pulaski County Judge Executive's Office, along with leadership roles on numerous nonprofit boards focused on education, youth development, and community service.

"Andrea's passion for serving others, combined with her strong relationships throughout our region, makes her an outstanding addition to Somerset Community College," said Dr. Carey Castle, SCC Chancellor. "Her experience, leadership, and commitment to our students and communities align perfectly with our mission, and I look forward to seeing the impact she will have as we continue advancing opportunities across our service area."

Clue's connection to community colleges began during her own college years, when she took summer courses at Owensboro Community College while attending Western Kentucky University. One course in particular left a lasting impression.

"My favorite class was archeology," Clue said. "We had a professor who was like a modern-day Indiana Jones, sharing stories from around the world and giving us opportunities to participate in actual archaeological digs. It showed me firsthand how community colleges can provide unique and meaningful educational experiences."

Her connection to Somerset Community College grew through years of community involvement, including volunteering with the Somerset-Pulaski County Chamber of Commerce's Holiday Auction Committee, which raises scholarship funds for SCC students.

"I've always admired the way Cindy Clouse advocated for SCC in our community," Clue said. "I know I have big shoes to fill, but I'm thrilled to have the opportunity to continue building on the strong relationships that have been established."

As Director of Advancement, Clue plans to focus on maintaining those existing partnerships while cultivating new relationships that support student success and strengthen the college's impact across the region.
"I've always believed that if you spend enough time getting to know someone, you'll find common ground," Clue said. "I look forward to building genuine relationships that help create new opportunities for Somerset Community College, our students, and the communities we serve."

Outside of work, Clue and her husband, Bobby, are raising two daughters, Chelsea and Shelby Jo. Much of her free time is spent cheering them on at softball, volleyball, tennis, and Girl Scout activities. This fall, she'll also fulfill a lifelong dream by attending Space Camp alongside her older daughter's Girl Scout troop.

A lifelong learner with a passion for travel, Clue has visited 43 countries and enjoys reading, crafting, cooking, traveling, and yoga whenever time allows.
"I feel honored to have been chosen to be part of Somerset Community College," Clue said. "So many professionals throughout our 13-county service area got their start at SCC, and I'm excited to help ensure future generations have those same opportunities to succeed without ever leaving home."
