
SCC Celebrates academic excellence at annual Honors Night

On Friday evening, Somerset Community College (SCC) proudly celebrated the remarkable achievements of its top students during the annual Honors Night ceremony. The event aimed to honor students who demonstrated exceptional leadership, earned specialty honors, and showcased impressive academic performances throughout the year.
The evening began with the stirring notes of the national anthem, performed by talented SCC cosmetology student Audry Orr, setting a positive tone for the festivities. The night was filled with inspiring stories of dedication and commitment, culminating in the uplifting performance of “You Raise Me Up”.
Throughout the ceremony, over 200 awards were presented to deserving students, acknowledging their hard work and determination. Professors, instructors, and mentors joined in the celebration, recognizing the importance of guidance and support in the students' academic journeys.
A significant total of scholarships and stipends were awarded to chosen students, providing essential assistance as they continued their paths in both their careers and educational pursuits.
"We are incredibly proud of our students and their accomplishments," said SCC President and CEO Dr. Carey Castle, "This event is a testament to their hard work, resilience, and passion, and we are excited to support them in their future endeavors."
The evening not only highlighted individual achievements but also served as a reminder of the strong community at SCC, fostering an environment of excellence and support.
