SCC honors Margie Childress and Todd Chmura with NISOD Award

Somerset Community College (SCC) is proud to announce the winners of this year’s National Institute for Staff and Organizational Development (NISOD) Award. This prestigious recognition has been awarded to Faculty member Margie Childress, Professor of Business Administration and Staff member Todd Chmura, Maintenance and Operations Supervisor.

The NISOD Award honors outstanding faculty and staff who have demonstrated exceptional commitment, creativity, and contributions to the college community. Margie and Todd were selected from a pool of eight exemplary employees who received the Quarterly Employee Recognition Award throughout the year, showcasing their dedication and excellence.

Margie Childress has made a significant impact in the Business department, inspiring students and fellow faculty members alike with her innovative teaching methods and unwavering support for student success. Her passion for education and her dedication to creating a positive learning environment have set a standard at SCC.

Todd Chmura has been a vital asset to the Maintenance and Operations team, consistently going above and beyond to ensure the campus operates smoothly and efficiently. His proactive approach to problem-solving and commitment to maintaining a safe and welcoming environment for students and staff exemplify the spirit of teamwork and service.

Both Margie and Todd will be recognized at the upcoming May 2025 National NISOD conference in Texas, where they will receive their awards and accolades. As part of this honor, they will also enjoy a designated parking spot of their choosing for the following year.
