Have you ever wondered how community college could benefit your life? Learn more about what programs the SCC McCreary Center is offering. We have students of all ages taking classes and changing their lives through higher education.
SCC McCreary Center offers opportunities in well-known programs like Associate Degree Nursing (ADN) and Nurse Aide programs to help locals find a career in a high-demand health field.
“The LPN to ADN bridge program at the McCreary campus allows established licensed practical nurses to further their education and become well-rounded registered nurses,” SCC Assistant Professor of Nursing Leanna Christie said.
Popular technical programs like welding often provide an open door for those willing to spend a short time at SCC, perfecting this high-demand skill needed in high-dollar industries.
“Spark your passion, ignite your skills, and learn the art of welding for a brighter future,” SCC Welding Instructor Ashley Phelps encouraged.
According to Phelps, The American Welding Society predicts the U.S. will have a shortage of about 360,000 welders by 2027.
“Forge a path to success with Somerset Community College’s welding program,” Phelps said. “The opportunities that await you have the power to transform your quality of life by opening doors to a fulfilling and prosperous future.”
The opportunities at SCC McCreary Center are for everyone, offering Adult Education, tutoring services, and access to on-site College Navigators and Community Mentors to help guide you through your higher education and have you on your path to success.
SCC McCreary Center offers a Western Kentucky University cohort in Elementary Education for those seeking to inspire the next generation through their teaching careers.
Newly remodeled Learning Commons and Student Lounge facilities have created a new atmosphere for students to invest time in their studies.
SCC McCreary Center Director Jill Lawson invites the entire community to the Open House event.
“If you haven’t been to the McCreary Center in a few years, you will be surprised by the transformation of our new Nursing and Welding departments in Building 2, as well as our remodeled Learning Commons, Student Lounge, and multi-use classrooms in Building 1,” Lawson said. “This is YOUR community college, and we welcome you to come and explore the campus and see for yourself what the SCC McCreary Center has to offer!”
