    SCC hosting Sunday FASFA Funday event

    Sunday FAFSA Funday (see article for more information)Somerset Community College (SCC) is organizing a Sunday FAFSA Funday event on February 25th from 1 p.m. to 3 p.m., which will take place at the Somerset and Laurel Campuses.

    The purpose of the event is to help first-time and current college students navigate through the financial aid process, especially with recent changes to the FAFSA financial aid web page.

    Expert advisors will be available during the event to guide attendees through the FAFSA completion process and answer any questions or concerns they may have. This personalized assistance will help students understand the application requirements and accurately complete the form.

    The FAFSA.gov website is an essential platform for applying and receiving funding for higher education. Attendees will have the opportunity to participate in a scholarship drawing, where two lucky students will win a $500 scholarship that can be used at any college in Kentucky. The scholarship winners will be selected randomly and announced by February 29, 2024.
