
SCC holds Fall Commencement Ceremony to celebrate 2023 graduates

Somerset Community College (SCC) celebrated its December graduates on Thursday, December 7, 2023, at the Corbin Arena.
According to SCC Registrar Jami Evans, students received 1,315 credentials: 291 two-year degrees, 123 diplomas, and 901 certificates. A total of 526 students completed the requirements necessary to graduate. 132 students walked in Thursday night's event.
At the ceremony, SCC President Dr. Carey Castle presented graduation credentials to those completing their desired degree, certificate or program during the Fall semester 2023.
Congratulations to all the graduates, and we are happy to welcome you to our SCC alumni family.

Cameron Thomas from Pulaski County earned an Associate of Applied Science in Visual
Communications: Multimedia and an Associate in Science in Electronics and Engineering
Technology. Thomas is also a member of the Comanche Tribe and Phi Theta Kappa.

SCC president Dr. Carey Castle enjoyed speaking with graduates after the ceremony.
Pictured graduates are husband and wife Tracy and Kenny Cox. They have plans to open
their own business in the future.
Jessica Collins from Laurel County proudly received credentials from the Practical
Nursing program.
Wesley Reynolds of Somerset graduated with an Associate in Science with a pre-engineering
track. Reynolds poses with his professors Debra House and Christin Neal.
Rebecca Whittle of Clay County is now a first generation college graduate. She received
her credentials in Aviation Maintenance Technology.
