Somerset Community College PTA Assistant Program Director of Clinical Education Wins Prestigious Award

Somerset Community College’s (SCC) Physical Therapist Assistant (PTA) Program Director of Clinical Education, Dr. Melanie Hines, PT, DPT, ATC, Cert. MDT, has been honored with the prestigious David A. Pariser Exceptional Educator Award for 2023 by the American Physical Therapy Association-Kentucky Chapter (APTA-KY).

Pariser Exceptional Educator Award is a coveted recognition presented annually to an outstanding educator in the physical therapy field who demonstrates remarkable teaching effectiveness in the academic setting and serves as an exemplary role model for students, faculty, and clinicians. Melanie Hines exemplifies these qualities and more, making her a highly deserving recipient of this esteemed award.
Melanie Hines serves as the Program Director of Clinical Education and Instructor at SCC, where she has consistently displayed unwavering dedication to her students' success and personal growth. She was formally recognized for her outstanding contributions to the field at the APTA-KY Fall Conference, held on September 9, 2023, where she received the David A. Pariser Exceptional Educator Award. The conference provided an ideal platform to celebrate Melanie Hines's exceptional achievements and contributions to the physical therapy community.
