SCC Signs Memorandum of Understanding with Lindsey Wilson College to Create Transfer Pathways
Published on Oct 11, 2021
Somerset Community College (SCC) has signed a Memorandum of Understanding through the University Center of Southern Kentucky (UCSK) with Lindsey Wilson College (LWC), to create a transfer pathway for graduates transferring to LWC to complete their bachelor’s degrees in Business Administration.
The agreement establishes the principles that several articulated associate degrees at SCC will transfer to LWC. The articulated program areas include business, accounting, and management.
“We appreciate President Luckey, Dr. Patricia Parrish, and Dr. Michael Seale for their commitment to developing pathways for students in the Somerset Community College region,” stated Trent Pool, director of the UCSK. “Dr. Parrish said it ideally, “we need to serve students!” Lindsey Wilson College has been a long-standing partner of SCC, and a great partner in the UCSK at SCC. We look forward to future developments in new pathways that benefit SCC students, LWC, and the workforce in our communities,”
In addition to ensuring a smooth transition to LWC, a library MOA was also signed so University Center students will be able to utilize the Learning Commons on the SCC’s Somerset campus. Students also will have access to LWC’s admissions, registration, and academic advising staff from SCC’s campus.
“I value the partnership Lindsey Wilson College has with Somerset Community College and its University Partnership Center. Our new agreement for business programs is very exciting because it provides a new avenue for serving students and building the capacity of our community,” said LWC vice president of Academic Affairs, Dr. Trish Parrish.
