Mar 21, 2018

photo of jason smith“Lord, honey” it is true, Season 13 Food Network Star Winner and Kentucky native, Jason Smith, will be at Somerset Community College (SCC) as the second SCC Barnes & Noble Great Discussion Lecture Series guest.

From his bright and vibrant outfits to his off-the-cuff sayings, Smith (Grayson, Kentucky), 39, describes himself as the down-home chef. A school cafeteria cooking manager and caterer, Smith has been cooking his entire life, with his modern, elevated recipes not only tasting delicious, but also being budget friendly. Smith, who previously competed on and won Food Network’s Holiday Baking Championship, shows viewers you don’t have to be a professional chef to cook delicious food.

The Food Network Star Winner, will be on campus as the second SCC Barnes & Noble Great Discussion Lecture Series guest. His free, public appearance will take place Thursday, March 29, 2018 from 5:30 to 6:30 p.m. in the SCC Harold Rogers Student Commons, Citizens National Bank Community Room, 808 Monticello Street, Somerset.

At the public lecture, Smith will be discussing the importance of culinary education and local sustainability.  As Smith said on his Facebook page about this event, “Get on it like chickens to corn!!! Don’t miss it, you will be as sad as a possum with no tator!!!”
