BIO:

Dr. Phillips is a native of Somerset and teaches economics and statistics.  Dr. Phillips was President of the Kentucky Economic Association in 2009 and has appeared numerous times on KET’s Kentucky Tonight program to discuss the economy. 

Interests – Research: Dr. Phillips’ research interests include post-Keynesian macroeconomics, history of economic thought, business statistics, and public finance.  Dr. Phillips has giving over 50 papers and presentations at local, state, and regional forums and conferences. Dr. Phillips has a forthcoming paper titled, “Sabermetrics Forecasting:  Modeling MLB Wins Based on Team Statistics”.  He has published over 30 editorials in the Commonwealth Journal newspaper, most recently, “It’s Time for a Ranked Voting System,” on May 5, 2019.
