BIO: |
My career in teaching mathematics began in the spring of 1994 as an adjunct mathematics instructor at Somerset Community College. I taught developmental mathematics courses exclusively until the spring of 1998, the semester after I completed my Master’s Degree at Eastern Kentucky University. Since 1998 I have taught courses ranging from developmental algebra to Calculus I to Elementary Probability and Statistics at SCC and at EKU. I was hired as a full-time mathematics instructor at SCC in 2009. I am now an assistant professor. At Somerset Community College, we are currently implementing modularized redesigned courses in our transitional math courses. The MyMathLab online learning system is the technology integrated for use in those courses. I have taken the lead role in the development of the modularized courses. The motto I live by in my teaching profession is “I am not teaching math; I am teaching people.” |
