Tallent named Clinton Center Director for SCC
Dr. Jo Marshall, President and CEO of Somerset Community College, announces the appointment of Judy Tallent as Clinton Center Director. Tallent has been with Somerset Community College since August 2008 as the Director of Upward Bound.
Dr. Jo Marshall, President and CEO of SCC stated, We are very pleased to have Judy
lead our Clinton Center. She knows the community and understands the specific educational
needs that our Center can meet. Judy is concerned about the students and assisting
them reach their educational goals. She also will be a positive voice for our College
in the communities we serve at the Clinton Center.
Tallent received her bachelors degree, masters degree and Rank I Certification from Western Kentucky University. She retired from the Clinton County School System with 27 years of experience. During her teaching career, she taught Distributive Education, Career Education and Computer Application classes. She also served as District Technology Coordinator and finished her career as Guidance Counselor at Clinton County High School. Tallent has also worked as adjunct faculty for Western Kentucky University and taught classes for the Better Business Bureau.
"I am honored and excited that Somerset Community College has given me the opportunity to serve in this capacity. I look forward to working with those individuals who choose to continue their education at the SCC Clinton Center, commented Tallent.
Tallent and her husband, Steve, have two children, Steven and Stefanie. Steven is in his third year at the University Louisville School of Dentistry and Stefanie is in her first year at Pikeville College School of Osteopathic Medicine. Tallent is an active member of Cave Springs Baptist Church and in her spare time she enjoys reading, boating on Lake Cumberland and spending time with family and friends.
