Somerset Community College Theater Holding Auditions for 2012 Season

Somerset Community College will hold auditions to fill roles for the remainder of the 2012 theater season. Auditions will be held on Tuesday, January 17 in SCCs Stoner Little Theatre. Sign-ins will begin at 7 p.m. and auditions begin promptly at 7:30 p.m. Audition packets are available in Stoner, Room 104.

SCC Director Steve Cleberg will be looking to fill roles in a number of upcoming theatre and film productions. Cleberg will be looking for talent and crew to fill roles and production slots for the first episode of SCCs YouTube series, entitled Summer Falls. The episode was written by Kentucky native Wes Gift and tells the story of a young man who must grapple with the financial restraints of going to college and tending to his ill father. Shooting for this production will take place in February.

Cleberg will also be filling roles for the annual stage production of Sketches! This production involves a series of off-beat comic sketches. Rehearsals for Sketches! will begin in early March and the production will take place in Stoner Little Theatre on April 13 and 14.

The theatre program will also be looking for college performers to serve as a part of SCCs Storybook Theatre. This company will visit local schools in a series of interactive performances centering on well-known childrens stories.

This summer, SCC Theatre will produce another summer film project yet to be named. Cleberg will be considering talent and crew for this project as well.
