SCC offering Voice Acting Class to teach the tricks of the trade

Have you ever been told you have a great voice? Wouldnt it be great to get paid for something you do every day, often without even thinking about it?

The Introduction to Voice Acting Class offered by Somerset Community College on Tuesday, March 15, will open the door to just that opportunity. Today, people just like you use their voices professionally for commercials, audio books, training videos, educational material, Internet and more. Getting Paid to Talk is an adult education class taught by the voice acting professionals from Voice Coaches, an industry leader in voice acting training with students all over the country.

During this two and a half hour non-credit class, students from every walk of life will learn what it takes to become a professional voice actor. From the basics of getting started, all the way through working in the studio, recording a demo, and landing jobs, the experts will thoroughly introduce you to this exciting field. Class attendees will even have an opportunity to record a mock commercial under the direction of Voice Coaches producer. Regardless of your motivation, Getting Paid to Talk is a great first step for anyone curious about the professional voice acting field.

The Voice Acting Class is scheduled for March 15 from 6:30 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. It will be held in the Industry Training Room, Building 1 on the SCC Somerset South Campus.
