SCC Laurel Campus to Host "Paint the Campus Purple" Event for Cancer Awareness

The Somerset Community College Laurel Campus will be getting a makeover on April 28. On that day, the campus will be painted purplewith ribbons.

Students, staff and faculty members are joining with the community to host a Paint the Campus Purple event in celebration of the American Cancer Society Relay for Life of Laurel County. Participants may purchase purple ribbons for $5 from the SCC Medical Assistant program. The ribbons will line the front yard and roads on the SCC Laurel Campus.

A ceremony supporting the fighters, admiring the survivors and honoring the taken will be held on April 28 at 12:30 p.m. on the front lawn of the SCC Laurel Campus, building 3, located at 100 University Drive in London. London Mayor Troy Rudder will open the ceremony and Nancy Powell, SCC Dean of Health Science and Roxanne Rose, American Cancer Society, will speak. The event is free and open to the public.
