Plus 2 Business Administration Program at Western Kentucky University Offers Online Transfer Option for SCC, KCTCS Students
In July, Somerset Community College (SCC) and Western Kentucky University (WKU) signed a joint admissions agreement. Now, that agreement has recently been expanded into an official two plus two agreement for business administration students transferring from SCC to WKU.
Lois McWhorter, associate dean of business and professional services at SCC, said the agreement applies to all present students and past graduates of any college within the Kentucky Community and Technical College System (KCTCS).
This is an excellent opportunity for SCC and all KCTCS students to start at their local community college and finish with their business degree from the Gordon Ford College of Business at Western Kentucky University, said McWhorter. We have worked hard to make this partnership work for the students, even including scholarship opportunities and an uncomplicated path of transfer.
The agreement, called the Plus 2 Business Administration option, is offered completely online and grants a Bachelor of Science in Management (business administration track). The program consists of coursework in accounting, computer information systems, economics, finance, management and marketing to deepen a students understanding of the world of business and develop his or her managerial skill set.
WKUs business programs are accredited by AACSB International, the worlds premier accrediting body. Graduates from these programs are highly sought after by employers and graduate schools.
A minimum of 120 credit hours between KCTCS and WKU are required for the degree with 42 hours of upper-division level credit. The program can be completed on a full or part-time schedule and again is completely online.
Transfer students from KCTCS with an associate degree and a cumulative transfer GPA of 3.25 are eligible for a $4,000 scholarship when attending full-time. The scholarship is renewable for up to two academic years with a maintained cumulative GPA of 3.25.
