Abdul Sammad, native of Afghanistan, gave a spell binding narrative about living in Afghanistan as a child at the Casey Center International Festival held on Thursday, Oct. 15. Sammad lost his hands when he mistook a mine as a shinny toy. He originally came to the United States for medical treatment. His new home is in Casey County where he works at The Bread of Life Caf.

Ben Wilson, master craftsman of guitars, has now made his first dulcimer. Wilson displayed his new dulcimer at the Casey Centers International festival held on Thursday, Oct. 15. In this photo, Wilson plays as Mick Slone and Ingrid Richey listen.
