The Kentucky Physical Therapy Association, in conjunction with RehabCare, has announced the recipients of its 2011 KPTA All-Academic Team. Students from Kentuckys Physical Therapist Assistant and Doctorate of Physical Therapy Programs are recognized annually by the association. Awards are competitively awarded based upon academic and clinical performance, extracurricular and community service activities, participation in physical therapy-related activities and leadership potential, and a personal statement discussing the students career goals and the importance of advocacy within the profession.
Members of this years team include: Brittany Bailey, Louisa, Hazard Community amp; Technical College PTA Program; Ann Bedwell, Macy, Indiana, Bellarmine University DPT Program; Veronica Bell, Monticello, Somerset Community College PTA Program; Kevin Creech, Partridge, Southeast Community amp; Technical College PTA Program; Kathleen Fondaw, LaCenter, West Kentucky Community amp; Technical College PTA Program; Erica Kennedy, Lexington, Somerset Community College PTA Program; Elizabeth McNeil, Elizabethtown, Jefferson Community amp; Technical College PTA Program; and Kalin Mutter, Lexington, University of Kentucky DPT Program.
This is the first year that the KPTA has partnered with RehabCare in presenting the awards. RehabCare is a highly regarded provider of rehabilitative care and is nationally the largest employer of physical, occupational and speech therapists.
The award recipients will be recognized at the KPTA Fall Conference on September 10 in Lexington, Kentucky.
