Kentucky Physical Therapy Association Announces 2014 All-Academic Team; Two Named from Somerset Community College

The Kentucky Physical Therapy Association (KPTA), in partnership with RehabCare, has announced its 2014 KPTA All-Academic Team. Students enrolled in Doctor of Physical Therapy Programs (DPT) or Physical Therapist Assistant (PTA) Programs who are members of the Kentucky Physical Therapy Association are eligible for the award. Recipients are selected based upon academics, campus and community involvement and the potential for significant contributions to the physical therapy profession throughout their careers.

Three institutions placed more than one student on the 2013 All-Academic Team. The Somerset Community College PTA Program placed two members on the team; Bellarmine University and the University of Kentuckys DPT Program each placed three on the team.

This years recipients include: Courtney Carpenter, Kings Mountain, Somerset Community College; Ashton Curry, Louisville, Bellarmine University; Adam Dotson, Lexington, the University of Kentucky; Callie Eaves, Powderly, Bellarmine University; Kaitlyn Flak, Louisville, Bellarmine University; Kristy Hyden, Prestonsburg, Somerset Community College; Katlyn Nasseri, Hazard, the University of Kentucky; Erin Stokes, Lexington, the University of Kentucky; and Shea Wilson, Benton, West Kentucky Community and Technical College.

Members of the KPTA All-Academic Team will be recognized at the KPTA Student Conclave in Louisville, Kentucky and will receive cash scholarships from RehabCare, a leading provider of rehabilitation services, including physical, occupational and speech therapies. 47 students have been recognized through the program since its inception in 2010.
