Associate Degree Nursing Program at SCC Receives ReaccreditationThe Associate Degree Nursing program at Somerset Community College recently received full reaccreditation until 2021 by the Accreditation Commission for Education in Nursing.
For the accreditation process, faculty and staff from the ADN program had to undergo an extensive program evaluation and were granted six years of accreditation with no conditions, according to Dr. Linda Ballard, ADN program coordinator.
I am extremely proud of the faculty and staff on both the Somerset and Laurel campuses who contribute daily to the success of this program, said Ballard. We have exceptional faculty and excellent students. This accreditation solidifies our already strong reputation and allows us to focus on educating nursing students in order to prepare them for the field.
According to the Accreditation Commission for Education in Nursing, the accreditation program is designed to indicate to the general public and to the educational community that a nursing program has clear and appropriate educational objectives and is working to achieve these objectives.
Graduates of the Associate Degree Nursing program at SCC program are employed as Registered Nurses in entry level staff nursing positions upon passing the licensure exam.
