Visiting Students

If you are a student who would like to take classes with Somerset Community College and are currently attending another college to earn a degree, complete the following steps:

If you have never been enrolled at SCC OR have not been enrolled in the past 2 years:

Step 1: Apply

Step 2: Provide proof of Good Academic Standing from your home college. This can be provided two ways and should be provided each semester you take classes as a visiting student:

    • A letter of good standing from your home college OR
    • Your unofficial transcript(s) from your home college

Step 3: Provide Pre-requisite confirmation can be provided two ways:

    • Scores from a placement test such as the ACT.
    • Your unofficial transcript(s) showing pre-requisite work

After SCC receives the above-required documents, visiting students are permitted to enroll themselves in the class(es) they want to take. The following steps will guide your enrollment into classes:

If you have attended Somerset Community College in the past 2 years:

Step 2. Complete a Readmission Application

Step 3. Enroll in classes

NOTE: If you have followed these steps and are unable to enroll yourself in classes due to pre-requisites or other issues, please send an email to for the fastest assistance. Be sure to include the following information in your email:

  • Your full name
  • Your 9-digit ID number
  • The courses you want to enroll. Include as much information about the course such as instructor, dates of class and/or course number
  • By providing this information, you are providing us with permission to enroll you in the classes you wish to take.
