Insurance

Somerset Community College is an approved provider for the Kentucky Department of Insurance to offer the required hours for Pre-Licensing of Life & Health agents and Property & Casualty agents. The Workforce Solutions department offers opportunities to prepare the student to take the state license exam. Online Registration of Pre-Licensing for Property & Casualty or Life & Health is easy.

Please check with the Kentucky Department of Insurance (DOI) for the Licensing Process & Requirements.  NOTE:  Kentucky DOI requires 20 hours for each line of authority course in order to take the final exam (Example:  Life – complete 20 hours, then complete final; Health – complete 20 hours, then complete the final, etc.)  There is a tracker feature installed to help you track how long you are taking during the course.  Time spent in the course will activate the tracker.

There are three different options for each Line of Authority based on the type of training desired.  Here is a Course Comparison List and supplemental helps to assist in deciding which course to take and any supplemental supplies.
