How to Contact Your Instructor. This video will guide you through the process of contacting the instructor for a course you may be enrolled in. After you have successfully logged into Blackboard, select the course you are enrolled in by using your mouse to select the course’s hyperlink from the course list. You will be directed to the homepage of your course, which is typically the Announcements page. From the menu on the left hand side of the page, select the Email link with your mouse as shown here. This link could also be named Communications, Contact Instructor, or something similar. If you do not see this link, you may wish to check the syllabus for the course to find out how to contact the instructor. Clicking the Email link will take you to the course’s Messages page. From the Messages page use your mouse to select the Create Message button as shown here. You will then be taken to the Compose Message page. From here, you can create an email message to send to your instructor. Under the Recipients heading, use your mouse to select the To button, and then use your mouse to highlight the name of your instructor. With your instructor’s name highlighted, use your mouse to select the Arrow button shown here, to move your instructor’s name to the recipients list. Now you are ready to compose your message. Enter a subject in the Subject field. Then enter your message in the Body field. If necessary you can upload an attachment. When you are ready to send the message, use your mouse to select the Submit button. Once you have selected the Submit button, you will be directed back to the Messages page, where a verification message will be displayed, confirming that you have sent your message. You may also use the same procedure described in this video to contact your fellow classmates if the instructor has set up the course to allow this feature.
