The Kentucky Fire Commission will be escorting families of fallen firefighters from across the state to the 34th Annual National Fallen Firefighters Memorial in Emmitsburg, Maryland. Activities will be held October 2-5 at the memorial located on the campus of the National Fire Academy.

The award was presented during the luncheon program for the Governor’s Conference on Postsecondary Education Trusteeship on Monday, September 28 in Lexington.

The 15th annual Fallen Firefighters Memorial service will honor and remember Kentucky firefighters who have given their lives in the line of duty to protect the citizens of Kentucky. The service will be held at 11 a.m. on September 30 at Juniper Hills Park, 800 Louisville Rd (US 60) in Frankfort.
