Kentucky Community and Technical College System (KCTCS) Board of Regents Chair P.G. Peeples, Sr., announced today Jay K. Box, Ed.D. has been named the next KCTCS President. In a unanimous decision, the board voted this morning at a special session to elect Dr. Box to the position. He will succeed Dr. Michael B. McCall, the first and only KCTCS president. Dr. McCall will retire in January, and Dr. Box will begin serving January 16.

The 14th annual Fallen Firefighters Memorial service will honor and remember Kentucky firefighters who have given their lives in the line of duty to protect the citizens of Kentucky. The service will be held at 11 a.m. on October 8 at Juniper Hills Park, 800 Louisville Rd (US 60) in Frankfort.

The U.S. Departments of Labor and Education have awarded six Kentucky Community and Technical College System (KCTCS) colleges $10 million to support job-driven programs within the information technology industry. The grant is part of an overall $450 million program that partners colleges with employers for job training. Hazard Community and Technical College (HCTC) will receive more than half of the grant to lead the consortium. The funding is part of the Trade Adjustment Assistance Community College and Career Training (TAACCCT) competitive grant program.
