Three students have been selected to represent Somerset Community College (SCC) in the Forward in the Fifth’s Student Congress for 2013-2014.  Students were selected through a competitive application process to serve as “Our Voice… Our Vision” Student Advisory Council members.

The Forward in the Fifth Student Congress is a program designed to identify regional challenges and to make improvements in higher education.  Students selected for the program are required to organize, conduct and collect information from their respective campuses and present it to the Forward in the Fifth board of directors.  Information from various institutions is then compiled and summarized and reported to participating institutions.

The “Our Voice… Our Vision” Student Advisory Council members from SCC include: Courtney Carpenter, physical therapist assistant major, Kings Mountain; Kristy Hyden, physical therapist assistant major, Prestonsburg; and Sasha Zaring, Appalachian studies major, Somerset.
