SCC Professor Completes Trauma Nurse Training Program
Jeff Clark, a Registered Nurse and Associate Professor at Somerset Community College, recently completed a training program for advanced nursing practice in trauma through the Emergency Nurses Association. Clark currently teaches in the Practical Nursing Program at the SCC Laurel Campus. He was honored during the course as the only participating candidate to receive the “Instructor Potential” rating, which will allow him to train as an instructor for Trauma Nurse core classes (TNCC) and teach throughout the state of Kentucky.
The TNCC course is designed to train the individual in the philosophy of Trauma Nursing, which is supported and sponsored by the Emergency Nurses Association. Upon completion of the course, Clark and other participants were tested on theory and then required to demonstrate proficiency with hands-on evaluations.
“My successful completion of this course adds to my tool box for instruction at Somerset Community College and professionally increases my skills and certifications,” said Clark.
