Commencement exercises will be held on Friday, May 10, 2013 for the summer 2012, fall 2012, and spring 2013 graduates. Students graduating in the summer 2013 can participate in the May 2014 commencement. Only students receiving a diploma or degree are eligible to participate in commencement exercises. The following commencement information was sent to all qualified candidates: Commencement practice will begin promptly at 11:00 a.m. Friday, May 10, 2013 in the Exhibition Hall of the Center for Rural Development. You should arrive at 10:30 a.m. and report to the check-in table at the entrance of the Exhibition Hall to receive your seating assignment. You need to be present for practice, which should last approximately two hours. Commencement is that evening at 7:30 p.m. You should arrive by 6:45 p.m. in preparation for the ceremony. The Center for Rural Development is located across from the Somerset Campus at traffic light #15 off of South Highway 27 in Somerset, Kentucky.
Due to limited seating each graduate participating in Commencement will be allotted 5 guest tickets. Guest with tickets will be seated on a first come first serve basis; however, tickets will not guarantee that you will be seated together. Guests with tickets will be seated in the Exhibition Hall to view the live Commencement Ceremony. Guests without tickets will be directed to The Center Theater to view the ceremony from a large screen.
Graduates participating in the Commencement Ceremony can pick up their tickets at any of our six campuses/centers April 22, 2013 – May 7, 2013. Photo ID will be required to pick up your tickets. You cannot pick up tickets for another graduate. Tickets not picked up by the close of business May 7, 2013 will be distributed on a first come first serve basis the evening of Commencement.
We are hiring The Center for Rural Development to video tape our commencement. Copies of the video will be available for purchase. The purchase price will be $19.95 prior to commencement and $24.95 after commencement. An order form was included in the letter that was mailed to all participating graduates.
Our Student Government Association has also asked a photographer to be available at commencement for graduation pictures. The photographer will be available prior to the commencement exercises to photograph graduates wanting to purchase photos.
