Chris Hall of Somerset, worked for Ford Motor Company in Cincinnati, Ohio from 1993-2007. When the plant closed, Hall had the opportunity to go back to school and finish his college degree. He had attended Western Kentucky University right out of high school, but chose to get a job and not finish his education.
With family members living in Somerset, Hall decided to explore Somerset Community College and see if he could possibly take some classes at SCC. He was first introduced to Curt Null and Phillip Moran, instructors in the Engineering Technology program. Hall said, "Mr. Null and Mr. Moran went above and beyond what was expected. With their guidance I received my associate in applied science degree from Somerset Community College and then transferred to Eastern Kentucky University without losing any credits."
Hall is currently finishing his Bachelor of Science degree from EKU in Career and Technical Education. He is conducting his teaching practicum at SCC under the supervision of Curt Null and Phillip Moran. He plans to continue his education with a master’s degree and would love to teach at SCC in the future.
“Everyone at SCC, from Admissions to the Business Office, has been very helpful. Having gone to another college, I know that the admissions and financial aid process is much easier to navigate at SCC,” commented Hall.
