Insurance Somerset Community College is an approved provider for the State of Kentucky Department of Insurance to offer the required 20 hours for pre-licensing for Life & Health and Property & Casualty agents.The Workforce Solutions department offers on-line and self-study (Life & Health and Property & Casualty) opportunities to prepare the student to take the state license exam.
We also provide mandated continuing education for licensed agents. All programs are administered through the Workforce Solutions Department.
HVAC License - Journeyman or Master HVAC License Each of these two separate courses will help you in successfully passing Kentucky’s license exam for HVAC Journeyman or Master License. A series of lectures, discussions and presentations pertaining to HVAC safety and OSHA rules and regulations will be covered. Journeyman HVAC Prep Course - Eddie Brown - SCC Laurel Campus South - 6pm-9pm. This course will help you in preparation for the HVAC Journeyman KY licensure test requirement. A series of lectures, discussions and presentations pertaining to the test will be covered. Approved reference text will be suggested for class use.

Plumbing License - Master and Journeyman Plumbing Code Prep Class This course is delivered by the professionals from Kentucky’s Division of Plumbing. This 36 hour course will help prepare you for the Kentucky’s licensure plumbing exam. This course is designed to help you become familiar with the codes for plumbing. Approved reference text will be suggested for class use.

Welding Certification This course hones the participant’s skills in the art of welding. This course covers SMAW (Arc welding) and GMAW (Mig welding) in all positions. Basic GTAW (Tig welding) will also be introduced. Knowledge of basic welding is required before taking this advanced level course. The course will help prepare you for the ASE Welding Certification Test.
