Kentucky Lt. Gov. Jerry Abramson visited the Maysville Campus of Maysville Community and Technical College last Friday, November 30. “I’ve been to Maysville many times, but have not had the opportunity to visit the college,” said Abramson. “I’m glad I made it here today.”
Abramson met with MCTC President Dr. Ed Story and members of the college leadership team before taking a tour through campus. The group visited the new Nursing Simulation Lab, featuring iStan, an interactive mannequin that breathes, blinks, cries and sweats and brings an unprecedented degree of realism to nursing education. They then walked through the Science Building, which opened in 2010 and houses a chemistry lab, two biology labs, a microbiology lab, a physics lab, a 60-person lecture room, an office suite and general classrooms.
“It was nice that the Lt. Gov. was able to spend some time with us and see our campus,” said Dr. Ed Story. “He has always been supportive of higher education and now he has an even better idea of the students and communities we serve here at Maysville Community and Technical College.”
